Rollac Shutter Manual & Warranty
Proper operation and maintenance of your rolling shutter ensures safety, reliability, and long product life. Please review the following instructions carefully.
General Safety Precautions
- Do not push the shutter upward manually — this may cause malfunction.
- Ensure the operating path is clear of people, pets, and obstacles before use.
- Never climb on, hang from, or add weight to the shutter.
- Keep hands, fingers, and objects away from guide rails and moving parts.
- Limit access to controls. Keep switches and remotes out of reach of children.
- Automatic controls (e.g., timers, sensors) should be turned off during winter or when away from home.
- Share these safety instructions with future property owners if the building is sold.

Operating in Different Conditions
- High Winds: Keep shutters fully closed or fully open. Keep windows closed.
- Cold Weather: Do not operate if the curtain is frozen. Wait until defrosted.
- Hot Weather: Allow ventilation by leaving the curtain slightly open or using light slit mode if equipped.
- Debris Build-Up: After long periods of non-use or storms, inspect and clear debris from housing and guide rails before operating.
Recommended Use
- Operate shutters daily if possible, with a typical cycle being one full open and close.
- At minimum, operate once per month to maintain functionality.
- Never force the shutter if resistance is felt. Stop and investigate or call your dealer.
Control Methods
- Limit Switches: Motors automatically stop at preset limits. Adjustments require a qualified dealer.
- Thermal Protection: Motors may temporarily shut off if overheated from repeated use. Wait 25–30 minutes before retrying.
- Switch Types:
- Maintained Switch: Moves automatically until stopped or limit is reached.
- Momentary Switch: Moves only while button is pressed
- Remote Control: Use “Up,” “Down,” and “Stop” buttons for positioning.
- Emergency Override: Use manual crank handle only in emergencies. Do not force if resistance is felt.

Special Operation Notes
- Manual Tape or Crank Systems:
- Lower or raise gently, especially in the final third of travel.
- Keep crank handle at ~45° angle during operation.
- Do not force the crank if resistance occurs.
- Spring-Loaded Shutters:
- Unlock with key or slide locks before raising.
- Avoid slamming against the housing.
- Lock securely when shutter is fully closed
Maintenance & Care
- Clean surfaces with mild detergent and water. Do not pressure wash.
- Keep guide rails free of dirt and lubricate annually with a dry PTFE spray (e.g., Alumaslick).
- Do not use grease, WD40, or oil on the motor or curtain.
- Inspect at least once a year for wear, fastening security, and operability.
- Only authorized technicians should adjust electrical or motor components.
Important: If you encounter unusual resistance, damage, or malfunction — stop operation immediately and contact your authorized dealer.
